School Leaders

Christine Algozo

Christine Algozo joined Uncommon Charter High School in 2009 as its founding Physics teacher and College Development Coordinator, later moving on to teach Chemistry and to lead the 10th Grade Team.  Prior to the opening of Uncommon Prep, she served as an Instructional Fellow, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, and Science Instructional Leader. Before joining Uncommon, Ms. Algozo spent seven years teaching middle school Science and high school Chemistry at Bronx Preparatory Charter School where she also served as Science Department Chair. Additionally, Ms. Algozo taught Chemistry at The Hotchkiss School and committed six summers to teaching science at the (MS)2 Program (Math and Science for Minority Students) at Phillips Academy.  Ms. Algozo received a B.A. in Chemistry and English from Mount Holyoke College and an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.


Brendan Campbell

Director of Operations
Brendan Campbell joined Uncommon Preparatory Charter High School as its founding Special Projects Coordinator in 2014. He has also served as UPC’s Director of Special Projects and an Operations Fellow. Before joining Uncommon, Mr. Campbell taught Social Studies at Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan.  There, he implemented a school-within-a-school program to give students additional ownership and flexibility over their learning. A native Michigander, Mr. Campbell graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Political Science, Communication Studies, and Community Action Social Change. While attending Michigan, he worked on the Teach For America recruitment team and helped recruit the most promising students to join the cause of ending education inequality.
